What I Believe

I am a Christian  who by God’s grace has been privileged to have my spiritual eyes opened through the miracle of the New Birth otherwise called as the “born-again” experience, which is a genuine experience needed by every person in order to become a true Christian. This has been stated clearly by Jesus in the Nicodemus discourse (John 3:3-7) .  May I respectfully state, that when the Master has spoken all else is rendered irrelevant. This vital New Birth is not  reserved for any special people, but anyone who desires to get right with God can avail the same by repenting of all known sin and placing your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour & Lord according to (John 3:16) & (Romans 10:9-10).

Hence my salvation is  by grace through faith and this is not my own doing, it is the gift of God, not because of works lest any man should boast  (Ephesians 2:8-9).  This New Birth and its consequent regeneration and revitalizing power provided by the indwelling Holy Spirit (experienced by me 36 years ago), has made me a New Creation in Christ.  Till this happened, I was a nominal Christian who was spiritually dead in my sins and trespasses (Eph 2:1) merely going through the form of religion, but knowing nothing of its real power (2 Tim 3:5).

By intensive bible study over the years, I have come to discover the truth from God’s Word just as Jesus stated in (John 8:31-32) where He said: “If you continue in MY WORD, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free“.  This has certainly proved true in my life and hence my current disposition to rely solely upon the Word Of God as the final arbiter of Truth. I am delighted to note that the early Church Fathers whose teachings, sought after by both Catholics and Protestants, abide by the above scriptural positions. For example, St. Augustine clearly states in Ch. 51 of his Enchiridion (or handbook of faith), that “All Men Born of Adam are Under Condemnation, and Only If New Born in Christ are Freed from Condemnation.”  Again he states in Ch. 75 of the same book that  “The Wicked and the Unbelieving are Not Made Clean by the Giving of Alms, Except They Be Born Again.”  This puts paid to anyone seeking to enter the Kingdom through good works apart from the Cross.

In the end only the truth will prevail and only the truth counts before God as He is the embodiment of all Truth. In these days every Christian believer is faced with the daunting task of navigating through many a doctrinal minefield in his/ her quest for Spiritual Truth. In case you are one such, these pages may be of help to you. I do not purport to know all Christian Spiritual Truth that exists, but I have learned much in my 36 year walk with Christ and it is this that I share for the benefit of those in need.
